The Happiest Place on Earth

Even in the rain, it is still the "happiest place on Earth." Abram had training in Orlando, so Macky and I joined him for some fun at DisneyWorld. Mackenzie had so much fun. She loved, loved, loved the roller coasters and the teacups. Oh, I can't forget meeting the princesses. She got so bashful and timid when she met them. It was adorable. She told Belle that she dressed as Belle for Halloween last year and Belle got really excited. You should have seen Mack's face when she saw Cinderella's castle light up at the end of the night. She looked so wet (her poncho ripped) and so cold. But, she had the biggest smile on her face! How sweet! Of course, when we asked her which ride was her favorite, she said, "the one I didn't ride"--the Aladdin's magic carpet ride. Sorry, but it was raining and she had already been on Dumbo, a dinosaur ride and a rocket ride that did the exact same thing. Maybe next time.

7 years later, 2000+ miles apart and 1 trip to the Emergency Room

Last year when we celebrated our sixth anniversary, we spent it driving back from Arizona in separate cars. Well, we just celebrated our seventh anniversary and we weren't even in the same state. Abram got up early, 3 a.m. early, to fix the sprinklers and then had to head off to catch his flight to Florida. I was woken by his voice saying that he was leaving and then to my surprise he added,"Happy Anniversary." Then he was gone. The rest of my day felt like pretty much the typical stay-at-home mom kind of day. Kids whining, baby crying, diaper changes, breakfast, lunch, a little shopping and the bus stop. Then I get the call. The secretary at the school tells me that Mackenzie fell and bumped her head in class and that she won't be able to ride the bus home. I found that a little odd but went ahead to pick her up. I get up to the school to find her with not a bump but a big hole in her forehead with blood on her shirt, blood on her shoes and blood oozing out of her cut. So, I ended up in the ER for two hours with my three children....on my anniversary. Mackenzie's fine by the way. She got her head all glued up and should be good. I'm just wondering, what should I expect next year?
